El Bosque del Pueblo, in Adjuntas, is a 760-cuerda forest reserve managed by Casa Pueblo through a community stewardship model. The area, which was once threatened by open-pit mining projects, was protected after years of civic mobilization and today preserves a subtropical humid forest with interpretive trails, recreational areas and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Visits must be arranged in advance.
