This historic 1907 building served as a town hall, courthouse, hospital and even a pharmacy. It also housed the offices of mayors from Virgilio Dávila to Ramón Luis Rivera Rivera. Since 1979 it has operated as a museum, and today it holds seven exhibition rooms across two floors and an interior courtyard used for workshops and activities.
The permanent collection brings together works by Latin American, Puerto Rican and Caribbean artists from the 20th century to the present. Free workshops for visitors are held monthly, and the work created there is often displayed to the public as well.
