Ylang Ylang opened in November 2025 as the sister restaurant of Passiflora, the vegan restaurant in Rincón that chef Loraine Arroyo founded more than five years ago. Unlike Passiflora, Ylang Ylang has a menu that combines vegan and meat dishes, with the same base of Caribbean cooking centered on local ingredients.
The restaurant is located inside El Oasis Hotel in Aguada, a hotel with local owners and staff. The concept aims to bring vegan, vegetarian and meat-based cuisine together under one roof, with a cocktail program that uses cacao, coffee, fruits and other Puerto Rican ingredients.
Chef Loraine Arroyo was born and raised in Aguada, in a fishing family, and has more than a decade of culinary experience. Her approach combines local sazón, island flavors and careful plating.
