Visitors should have <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=GtxqY5GS6EurG4MHZcO3TUeBU9McxCZPp7VVGlN5n7hUMEU3NEZXWk4wTFNIV0VVUUo4N0lRTTdRWS4u\">completed this Department of State form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s happening?<\/strong> The Government activated a contingency plan in response to airspace restrictions for U.S. flag carriers imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) due to the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela. The plan includes activating the Convention Center in Miramar and several hotel ballrooms to receive tourists whose flights have been canceled. They remain in communication with cruise lines to address any needs that arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sunday arrivals:<\/strong> The Norwegian Cruise Line&#8217;s Epic and Princess Cruises&#8217; Grand Princess, with a combined capacity of 6,700 passengers, as well as the Brilliance of the Seas and the Ritz-Carlton Ilma are scheduled to arrive at San Juan Bay on Sunday, January 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this time, the San Juan Cruise Port reported that <strong>operations continue as normal<\/strong>, but urged passengers to stay alert to official communications from cruise lines regarding any changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fsanjuancruiseport%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0zKwVN4MhKPJvDxfZLkFggAGraTo4aJ7KPgxYaFv3i9ZpLfqsB1zCCpBzgD6DKg1Cl&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"645\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Has Been Canceled<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Airspace restricted:<\/strong> Puerto Rico&#8217;s airspace was temporarily restricted at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3. Jorge Hern\u00e1ndez, President and CEO of Aerostar, the company that manages Luis Mu\u00f1oz Mar\u00edn International Airport, said at a press conference that the restriction only applies to U.S. airlines and expires at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Canceled flights:<\/strong> On January 3, over 400 flight operations were impacted in San Juan (SJU), affecting 48,000 passengers, according to statements by Hern\u00e1ndez during the press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At regional airports in Aguadilla and Ponce, about 700 passengers were affected, as well as local flights from Ceiba and San Juan to the island municipalities and Mayag\u00fcez, added Norberto Negr\u00f3n D\u00edaz, Executive Director of the Ports Authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Although the restriction was for U.S. flights, <strong>international airlines such as Avianca and Iberia also canceled flights, Hern\u00e1ndez confirmed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FAeropuertoSJU%2Fvideos%2F1245847440740717%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s still operating<\/strong><br>Airlines still operating from Luis Mu\u00f1oz Mar\u00edn International Airport (SJU) are: Copa Airlines, Air Canada, and Caribbean Airlines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*Leer en espa\u00f1ol What&#8217;s happening?
