Comerío is celebrating its patron saint festival in honor of the Santo Cristo de la Salud, coinciding with the town's bicentennial, at the municipality's Plaza de la Trova. Friday opens with the 2do Festival de la Niñez and a Toy Story show, followed by Los Rufianes, Moncho Rivera y su Orquesta, and Orquesta Rumba Caliente. Saturday includes the Torneo de Baloncesto Copa Bicentenario, the Torneo de Dominó Bicentenario, a gathering of soneros with Orquesta Abran Paso, Luigy Texidor, Pichie Pérez and Guillo Rivera, a tribute to the highest voice in merengue, and Conjunto Chaney. Sunday features the start and awards ceremony of the Maratón El Seco, performances by Los Amigos de mi Abuela and Los Pleneros de Severo, a tribute to the Caballero de la Salsa, and a closing set by El Conjunto Quisqueya.
