The XLVII Festival de Teatro Caguas presents the play La Maestra del Pueblo, produced by Art Revolution PR, Inc.
Inspired by the life of Celestina Cordero Molina, one of Puerto Rico's first educators, the play depicts her struggle against the barriers of machismo, racism and classism to provide education to low-income girls. It also highlights education as a tool for freedom, equity and social transformation.
