Puerto Rico Wine & Food Festival

La Compañía de Turismo brings the second edition of this festival. Over four days, attendees can enjoy tastings, wine seminars, lunches, dinners and culinary experiences. The event will feature well-known Puerto Rican chefs, international talent and top wine and beverage brands. Festival Comunitario de la Calle Robles

Microfestival Pa' Donde Margó & Maelo

Premiere of the documentary "¡Victoria para el teatro puertorriqueño!"

The official premiere of the feature-length documentary "¡Victoria para el teatro puertorriqueño!" takes place as part of the celebration of 130 years of cinema in Puerto Rico. The documentary presents, in an expanded edition of 132 minutes, a complete portrait of the life and legacy of Dr. Espinosa Torres, a central figure in Puerto Rican theater. The event marks the historical debt owed to theater on the Island and offers a thorough, rigorous look at Espinosa's artistic, social and cultural legacy.

The ICP's 63rd Festival de Teatro Puertorriqueño presents "Mi Isla en Sueños" alongside the Coro de Niños de San Juan. Audiences can see the production on April 18 and 19, 2026. It is a work in which characters arrive carrying images that seem impossible yet feel deeply familiar: the sea, childhood, an entire archipelago breathing inside a scene.

Opening: Cuerpa, Cuerpe, Cuerpo II: Nuestra Herencia Afroantillana en Suelo Betancino

This exhibition pays tribute to key Afro-descendant figures in Puerto Rico's history and culture through 32 printmaking works created by 28 artists. The show explores Afro-descendance, historical memory and cultural identity, connecting those themes to the legacy of Ramón Emeterio Betances.

During the opening, which is free, there will be music by El Cuarteto de Bomba. The exhibition will be open to the public through July 17, 2026.

La Desenmoñada 2026

Poetry of Protest, Grief, & Love: A Reading & Conversation with Martín Espada

The Instituto de Estudios del Caribe presents "Poetry of Protest, Grief, & Love," a reading and conversation with Puerto Rican poet, essayist, translator and editor Martín Espada. Espada will present work from his two most recent poetry collections, "Floats: Poems," which received the National Book Award for Poetry-2021, and "Jailbreak of Sparrows." Professors Maritza Stanchich and César A. Salgado will join him in conversation. The conversation will be streamed on YouTube on the Instituto de Estudios del Caribe channel.

Congreso Internacional de Escritores: Book Fair and Autograph Session

The Congreso Internacional de Escritores holds its third edition April 23–25, 2026. Under the theme "La libertad de las palabras," this new edition invites the general public to take part in the lectures, debates and workshops that will make up the program. That includes the keynote dialogue, titled "Las palabras que nos arman," featuring Puerto Rican writer Luis Rafael Sánchez and the director of the Instituto Cervantes of Spain, Luis García Montero.

The Congreso will feature a diverse group of guests, among them writers, academics and cultural organizers. Representing Puerto Rico will be Ana Teresa Toro, Pabsi Livmar, Melanie Pérez Ortiz, Wilda Rodríguez, Mairym Cruz Bernal, Mayra Santos Febres, Ana María Fuster, Mara Pastor, Magali García Ramis, José Rabelo, Arlene Carballo, Maia Sherwood, Tina Casanova, Elidio la Torre Lagares, Joan López Bauzá and Mayra Montero (Cuba, PR). From Colombia, William Ospina and Juan Gabriel Vásquez; and from Venezuela, Juan Carlos Méndez Guédez. Rey Andújar will represent the Dominican Republic, and Claudia Piñeiro will represent Argentina. Spain will be represented by José Manuel Fajardo, Javier Cercas, Ignacio Ferrando, Raquel Caleya, María José Gálvez and Santiago Herrero.

Feria Anual del Libro de Caguas

The Feria Anual del Libro de Caguas returns with its 2026 edition, dedicated to noted Puerto Rican author Ana Lydia Vega. The event will offer a wide range of cultural and literary activities, including book exhibitions and sales, author presentations, talks, panel discussions and children's activities. Attendees can enjoy tributes, literary awards and musical performances, exploring the best of literature and culture.

Ventana al Jazz Ponce

As part of "Ventana al Jazz Weekend," the April edition of Ventana al Jazz comes to Paseo de la Salsa in Ponce.
