THINGS TO DO

Tren Urbano and AMA will be free for six months. Here are more than 12 spots to visit at each stop.

What's happening? Effective March 1, Tren Urbano, Metrobús, Tu Conexión, Metro Urbano and the Autoridad Metropolitana De Autobuses (AMA) are free for up to six months.

The free rides are possible because the Autoridad de Transporte Integrado (ATI) is beginning an overhaul of the ticketing and access systems across its public transportation services. This is a good opportunity to take advantage of free transit and visit places near the stops.

Where to go at each Tren and AMA stop

📍Bayamón to Río Piedras:

The Bayamón Tren Urbano station has free parking. From there, take the Tren Urbano toward Sagrado Corazón and get off at the Río Piedras stop. Once in Río Piedras, you can visit any of these spots:

  • Café Comunión

  • Selena Pizzería

  • Memento Rosas

  • Librería La Esquina

📍Río Piedras to Old San Juan:

After exploring Río Piedras, you can return to the Tren Urbano and ride to the Sagrado Corazón station. There you'll find an AMA bus that will take you to Old San Juan. Old San Juan has a lot to offer; here are some of our favorites.

📍Old San Juan to Bayamón:

If you still feel like exploring, head back on the AMA bus to the Sagrado Corazón station and continue to the Bayamón station. The town has plenty to visit as well.

  • El Nido

  • 183 Grados Ice Cream Atelier

  • Tueste Coffee Shop

  • Plaza Licenciado Eugenio María de Hostos

Enjoy it without traffic and without gas costs.
