Bad Bunny announces residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico

"No me quiero ir de aquí" opens July 11 with nine concerts for Island residents only, out of a total of 30 concerts running through Sept. 14.

Bad Bunny announced a concert residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, beginning this coming July, days after the release of "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS", which has proven to be a successful album dedicated to Puerto Rico, including its debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart.

In a video posted to his social media, the urban artist pointed out to his fans that, although he has had the privilege of touring the world with his music, for now he prefers to stay on his island, which gave rise to the title of his residency: "No me quiero ir de aquí".

"Right now I'm in Puerto Rico. I'm having a good time, and if I'm being honest, I don't want to leave," Bad Bunny said.

The concerts, all running Friday through Sunday, open on Friday, July 11. The first three weeks of the residency, through July 27, will be reserved for Puerto Rico residents, according to his website nomequieroirdeaqui.com.

The dates were originally set to run through Sunday, Aug. 24, but following strong demand they were extended through Sept. 14, for a total of 30 concerts, with VIP experiences and hotel offers.

The ticket presale is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 10:00 a.m. To make access easier for local fans, cards with QR codes and a promo code will be distributed at nine locations across the Island: Arecibo, Cayey, Ceiba, Humacao, Lajas, Mayagüez, Naranjito, Ponce and San Juan.

How much will tickets cost?

According to Ticketera, tickets start at $35 in the upper level and reach $250 in the Arena. The upper level ranges between $55 and $80, while the main level ranges between $125 and $150. Club Seats cost $150.

Beyond his announcement for Puerto Rican fans, Bad Bunny said that before the year is out he will announce "the exact day and time" when he will visit his fans around the world, so it remains to be seen whether he will announce a new world tour in 2025.

The urban artist's announcement marks a milestone in Puerto Rico's concert history, as it is the first time a music residency has taken place on the Island.

A residency refers to a series of concerts, usually more than 10, that a person or group performs at a specific venue over a set period. They are usually found in major entertainment cities such as Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition to debuting at the top of the overall album charts, Bad Bunny celebrated that songs such as BAILE INoLVIDABLE and DtMF, with musical fusions of salsa and plena, respectively, have reached the top positions on streaming platforms such as Apple Music.
