After four years away, the well-known pizza and beer festival Puerto Rico Pizza & Beer Fest is back.

The well-known pizza and beer festival Puerto Rico Pizza & Beer Fest held its first edition in June 2014 and returns on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. The seventh edition of the event will bring together around 25 local restaurants and pizzerias, along with more than 100 beer labels at the Parque Agroturístico de Dorado.

After six successful, sold-out editions, the festival is moving to the municipality of Dorado for the first time, with the goal of offering a better experience for attendees. The festival will have more space, shaded areas, more competitors, a larger number of beer labels, professional judges and family entertainment.

The event is produced by PRICEC (Puerto Rico Culinary Events Conglomerate), which in 2021 joined forces with production agency Imagenda Puerto Rico. Together they founded this event, as well as the PR Burger Festival, BBQ Grilling Wars and others.

"We are thrilled to bring back one of the public's favorite culinary events for the seventh time after a four-year pause. This world-class festival has been embraced by Puerto Ricans across six previous editions, and we can finally return bigger than before. We are proud to offer an experience of this scale to Puerto Rican families and to pizza and beer enthusiasts, as is the PR Pizza & Beer Fest," said Jaime Villamil, principal officer of Imagenda and a member of the PRICEC board of directors.

What can I expect from the festival?

The festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at El Parque Agroturístico de Dorado. Participants will compete for cash prizes, the opportunity to travel to competitions in the United States and the top title of best pizzeria and beer in Puerto Rico.

During the competition, all teams will be judged by the public using the same criteria in the People's Choice Award. The five teams favored in the People's Choice will then go before a professional jury made up of well-known chefs from the Island.

"In turn, more than 4,000 fans will be able to enjoy creations from the participating pizzerias and sample more than 100 different beers of the highest quality," said José Franceschini, also a member of the PRICEC board of directors.

Omar Gamero, events director and PRICEC member, added that "the public has been requesting this event for more than two years, so we have worked hard to elevate even further the experience and production of what is already a proven event in the industry. As a highly anticipated event, the bar is even higher, so we are coming with big surprises and benefits for attendees."
