What's happening? Families in seven municipalities, San Juan, Canóvanas, Carolina, Gurabo, Juncos, Loíza and Trujillo Alto, are preparing for an imminent water rationing plan for customers served by the Carraízo reservoir and the Sergio Cuevas filtration plant, due to falling water levels and drought conditions.

  • When: The scheduled interruption plan begins Friday, Aug. 7. It was announced by the government on Aug. 4.

Loíza Mayor Julia Nazario told Platea that the municipality has not set up fixed water stations, but instead makes rounds through areas without water service, distributing bottled water and filling cisterns.
